We sometimes forget the price that has been paid over the years, by many men, women, and children, that we might enjoy the freedom we have in this great country. Yes, we have laws, rules and regulations, that we might not always like or agree with, but we here in the United States of America, are far more blessed than any other country in the world. Unfortunately we need rules and laws to keep us in check because of our natural nature. Some might ask; what do you mean by that?
Well, let me explain; According to the Bible, Gods Holy Word, everyone is born with a sinful nature that draws us to be selfish and self seeking to the point we will seek to satisfy our desires without care of what God or others suffer as a result. So God set in place commandments/laws for man to follow (Exodus 20). Sadly though, man still defied God and continued to break the laws. As a result, God loved his creation so much that he sacrificed His Son, Jesus, the Christ, that our sins might be atoned for so we would have a way to be "not guilty" in His eyes. But we must accept that gift of salvation. 'If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved' Romans 10:9. We are saved by Gods grace through faith.
With all that being said, let us not only remember this day our fallen heroes, but also reflect on what God through Jesus has done for us. God Bless!
